Networking support
The COPL Networking Support Programme provides funding to support student participation in scientific events that foster collaboration and advance the Centre’s mission on the origins and prevalence of life. The call is open year-round, with a submission deadline at the end of each month.
Purpose
To support students’ participation in networking activities – such as conferences, seminars, colloquia, workshops, summer schools etc. – that promote scientific exchange and collaboration aligned with COPL’s research focus. The programme may also cover catering costs for associated break events, including lunches, ice-breakers, and informal gatherings.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants include Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral students who are part of research groups affiliated with COPL.
Applications must be submitted by COPL Core Members.
Scientific scope
Activities must align with COPL’s core objectives, including:
- Origins and emergence of biological systems
- Planetary environments and habitability
- Life in extreme or non-standard conditions
- Habitability and biosignature potential
Funding
Up to CHF 1,000 per application

Assessement
Applications are evaluated monthly by the COPL Directorate according to internal Assessment Guidelines.
Timeline
The call is open year-round, with a submission deadline at the end of each month. Successful applicants are notified with 1–2 weeks after the deadline.
