Research
By bringing together researchers from different disciplines who share a common scientific vision, the Centre aims to address its scientific objectives. The implementation of the objectives is achieved via ambitous Reserach Programmes.
The Scientific Objectives of the Centre are:
- Investigating processes that generate the molecular building blocks for life and drive the transition to emergent biological entities
- Quantifying the capability of planetary environments to meet, maintain and diversify conditions for complex life and how life shapes planetary environments
- Characterising the diversity of planetary environments and their ability to host life
- Investigating non-standard life and life in extreme environments
The Centre's Objectives are implemented via Research Programmes
Currently, the active Research Programmes are:
- NOMIS - ETH Fellowships - the second call will open on 8 September 2023. Preliminary information is availble.
- Short-term Visitors - the standing call is open for visitors the following semester.
- Research Projects - 3 applications were selected for financial support.
