The COPL is founding member of the Origins Federation, a global research consortium aiming to advance our understanding of the emergence and early evolution of life, and its place in the cosmos.
The Origins Federation
The external page Origins Federation pursues scientific research topics of interest to its founding centres with a long-term perspective and common milestones. It strives to establish a stable funding platform to create opportunities for creative and innovative ideas, and to enable young scientists to make a career in this new field.
The Origins Federation is open to new members, both centres and individuals, and is committed to developing the mechanisms and structure to achieve that aim.
The Federation organises annual scientific conferences to showcase the latest research in the field. The next Origins Federation conference will take place at the University of Chicago on September 9 – 12, 2025. Further details will be provided later in the spring.
