NOMIS–ETH Fellowship Programme

NOMIS-ETH Fellowship Programme logo

The NOMIS–ETH Fellowship Programme is intended to foster young interdisciplinary researchers in the field of the origin and prevalence of life who have demonstrated scientific excellence in the early stages of their careers. With a total of nine fellowships spread over six years, the programme will create a significant momentum among the fellows, allowing them to expand their scientific knowledge and personal skills, and setting them on a path to eventually become leaders in the fascinating and dynamic research field of 'Life in the Universe'. Currently, four fellows are part of the programme.

The fellowships have a duration of 3+1 years and applicants are encouraged to propose their own research project, rather than following the planned activities of a group leader. This allows fellows to live and develop their curiosity and skills, while also being embedded in an exquisite research environment, where mentoring by established scientists and exchange with peers encourage them to excel in their endeavours.

Each year, from September to November, eligible early-stage researchers can submit their application for a fellowship starting in the second half of the following year.
